Peugeot announces prices and details for the new 308 SW
  • On sale June 2008
  • Improved modularity
  • Powered by eight engine options
  • Four trim levels - S, SR, Sport and SE
  • Range starts from £14,395 on-the-road
Peugeot's new 308 SW builds on the strengths of its predecessor the 307 SW and develops them even further. For example, the panoramic glass roof is now 27% larger, the modularity is easier to operate and improved and there is now a new six-speed manual gearbox.

It will be available in four trim levels S, SR, Sport and SE and will replace the 307 SW and 307 Estate range of vehicles, when it is launched in June 2008. The S and SR versions will differ from the Sport and SE versions by the fitment of a steel roof panel and a folding split rear bench seat, instead of individual removable seats and a Cielo panoramic glass roof as found on the Sport and SE versions.

At launch the 308 SW will be available with eight engine options, five petrol engines and three HDi diesel engines.

Petrol engines
  • 1.4 litre VTi 95 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.6 litre VTi 120 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox & 4-speed automatic
  • 1.6 litre THP 140 bhp 4-speed automatic gearbox
  • 1.6 litre THP 150 bhp 6-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.6 litre THP 175 bhp 6-speed manual gearbox
HDi Diesel engines
  • 1.6 litre HDi 90 bhp 5-speed manual gearbox
  • 1.6 litre HDi 110 bhp 6-speed manual gearbox
  • 2.0 litre HDi 136 bhp 6-speed manual gearbox & 6-speed automatic
All engines meet the current Euro 4 emission standards and both the HDi 110 and HDi 136 diesel engines are fitted with a diesel particulate filter system (FAP).

Sharing the same wheelbase as the 307 SW, but with an increased length of 72 mm and width of 117 mm with the mirrors folded, the 308 SW provides more interior and luggage space than the outgoing model. To improve the 308 SW's dynamic performance the width of both the front and rear tracks have been increased as well as the rigidity of the body.

Standard equipment on all models includes: power steering, driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbags, curtain airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks, electric front windows, steering column adjustable for reach and rake, radio / single CD player, passenger / driver seat height adjustment, ABS with EBFD and EBA, trip computer, front fog-lights, body coloured door mirrors and door handles, air-conditioning...

The S and SR models both have a steel roof panel instead of a Cielo panoramic glass roof, a split rear folding bench seat, a 20 litre under floor storage area in the rear load area and a "classic" front grille design.

The SR version adds: 16" alloy wheels, Bluetooth hands free kit, storage pack (rear seat centre armrest with storage) and SMARTNav, to the standard specification of the S version.

The Sport version adds to the specification of the S version: three second row individual and removable seats, a Cielo panoramic glass roof, 17" alloy wheels, 'Sports' front grille, radio / CD with diversity + MP3 compatibility, opening rear tailgate glass, steering column airbag, front centre armrest, leather steering wheel, electric rear windows, ESP and cruise control.

The SE version then adds, compared to the Sport version: 16" alloy wheels, dual zone air-conditioning, two third row individual and removable seats, Visibility Pack (automatic headlamps and wipers), electro-chrome rear view mirror, electric folding door mirrors, Comfort Pack (front seat lumbar support and armrest), Ambiance Pack (fragrance diffuser, ambient lighting), dark tinted rear windows and tyre pressure sensors.

On the road prices from £14395.00
Peugeot 207 SW Outdoor on sale Dec 2007
  • On sale December 2007
  • Powered by three engine options
  • Full length Cielo glass panoramic roof as standard
  • Innovative folding rear seats
  • Unique interior trim
  • Raised suspension and 'off-road' look
  • Outdoor range starts from only £13,650 on-the-road
The third member of the Peugeot 207 SW range will be launched in the UK in December 2007. It will increase the SW range to three models: the S, Sport and Outdoor.

The 207 SW Outdoor is aimed at customers who enjoy outdoor pursuits and want a vehicle which is functional, fun, practical and full of personality.

It is based on the 207 SW Sport but brings a visual 'off-road' look to the range through the increased ground clearance (raised by 16 mm at the front and 21 mm at the rear), fitment of new 16" 'Outdoor' alloy wheels with special 205/55R 16 tyres and large Narbonnais grey wheel arch extensions / sill mouldings.

The standard specification builds on that of the 207 SW Sport but adds: one touch front and rear electric windows, dark tinted rear side windows and tailgate glass, washable floor mats and Aspen black or brown interior trim.

It is still a true Peugeot SW with a full length "Cielo" glass panoramic roof, the innovative rear seat folding mechanism and all the standard safety equipment of the other 207 SW models.

It has an overall length of 4156 mm, 119 mm longer than the 207 hatchback and an increased height of 1555 mm, 28 mm more than the 207 SW Sport.

The innovative folding rear seats split two thirds / one third and, when folded, form a continuous flat load area which can accommodate a variety of leisure equipment up to an overall length of 1.70 m and provides a total volume of 1,433 litres.

The 207 SW Outdoor will be available with three engine options, two HDi diesels, 1.6 litre 90 bhp and 1.6 litre 110 bhp with a diesel particle filter system (DPFS) and one petrol engine, a 1.6 litre VTi* 120 bhp engine.

All the engines will be fitted with a manual five speed gearbox with ratios selected to match the individual engine characteristics.

Peugeot launches 407 coupe models
One of the most important changes to the 407 Coupé line up is the launch of a new derivative - the HDi 136 - and now available to order. The new 407 Coupé HDi 136 has a CO2 output of just 156g/km with 48.0mpg on the Combined Cycle. It can achieve a top speed of 129mph, and 62mph from standstill in 10.1 seconds.

Coinciding with the launch of this new model is a revised Coupé range, with a single 'Sport' trim level and a choice of four engines; the new 2.0-litre HDi 136, the 2.2-litre petrol, the 3.0-litre V6 petrol manual and the 2.7-litre V6 HDi automatic.

Prices for the new range start at £19,530 for the Sport 2.2-litre petrol, while the new 2.0-litre Sport HDi 136 version is available from £19,995, on the road. All Sport versions are available with, and without, RT4 satellite navigation as standard.

Key trim features of the new Sport spec include: alloy wheels, xenon headlamps, electrochrome rear mirror, cruise control and speed limiter, rear parking aid and laminated side windows. Other standard-fit features include dual-zone climate control, auto door locking, auto headlights and auto wipers, tyre pressure sensors and ESP.
Peugeot's first SUV, the 4007
The Peugeot 4007 is the first SUV to be launched by Peugeot and extends the brand virtues of style, dynamism, innovation and quality. Positioned in the heart of the SUV market, 4007 has been designed to attract new customers who are looking for something distinctive.

The 4007 extends the Peugeot product portfolio and features an innovative electronically controlled four-wheel drive system, latest generation HDi engine technology and a versatile, dynamic and flexible interior which can transport up to seven in style and comfort.

The joint collaboration between the PSA Peugeot Citroën group and the Mitsubishi Motor Corporation has produced the 4007 - a vehicle that combines a high-driving position, distinctive appearance, a 5+2 seat configuration and 'on-demand' 4WD system. This combined with Peugeot's class-leading HDi engine means it:
  • Emits less CO2 than some family cars due to its efficient HDi engine
  • Returns impressive mpg performance (39.2 mpg on the Combined Cycle)
  • Operates only in 4WD mode - when road conditions necessitate
  • Is fitted with Peugeot's industry leading Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS) reducing exhaust particulate emissions to virtually zero, unlike a conventional SUV
On-Demand 4WD System
One of the most important engineering credentials of the 4007 is its innovative electronic 'on-demand' 4WD system. Unlike many other systems, the 4007 enables the driver to select three modes of drive, while on the move:
  • Permanent 2WD - great for the majority of times when travelling around town or on a motorway, with all power directed to the front wheels
  • Automatic 4WD - engine torque is delivered automatically to wheels that require the most traction at any time
  • Permanent 4WD - splits torque 50:50 between front and rear wheels making it perfect for when the going gets tough
This technology gives 4007 the 'best of both worlds', for it can tackle some of the roughest terrain, yet still provides excellent on-road dynamic behaviour and excellent fuel economy.

Powertrain
Powering 4007 is a variation of the 2.2-litre HDi engine first seen in the 407 HDi 170. In this application, it produces 156 bhp at 4000 rpm, but its torque increases to an exceptionally strong 380 Nm at just 2,000 revs. The flexibility of this engine makes it very tractable when performing off-road and gives fantastic performance on road too. The 2.2-litre HDi 156 engine with 6-speed manual transmission emits just 191 g/km CO2 and is fitted as standard with a diesel particulate filter system (DPFS) - technology pioneered by Peugeot back in 2000.

The UK Range
The new 4007 is launched with two trim levels: SE at £22,790 and GT at £25,490 on-the-road. Both models have the following standard equipment:
  • Electronic 'on-demand' four-wheel drive system
  • ESP, ABS and EBFD
  • Roof bars
  • Automatic air conditioning with climate control, pollen and dust filters
  • 6 airbags (front, side, and curtain)
  • Ultrasonic alarm and remote control central locking with deadlocks * Trip computer, front fog lights and radio/ CD player with MP3 compatibility
The SE will also feature as standard 16" alloy wheels. Customers choosing the range-topping GT gain full black leather upholstery, 18" alloy wheels, a 6 disc CD autochanger, rear parking aid, xenon headlights, dark tinted rear windows and increased use of chrome detailing.

Fourth Peugeot Design Competition to be launched at the Paris Motor Show

  • Amateur designers can see the Peugeot of their dreams come to life
  • 6000 euro prize money, 'lifesize' model displayed at Frankfurt Motor Show 2007, winning design will also feature in a forthcoming Xbox 360 game
At the 2006 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot is set to launch its fourth Design Competition. This will invite Internet users around the world to submit designs for a new Peugeot based around a set theme. Six letters sum up the philosophy of this year's design theme, P.L.E.A.S.E.

As in previous years, the winning design will be displayed at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show as a full scale model, the winner will receive a cheque for 6000 euros and a miniature version of the model will be mass produced. In addition, this competition's winning design will also feature in an Xbox 360 video game - making this competition a truly unique opportunity for aspiring car designers.

The competition is open to participants* over the age of 14 who must submit their entry via the interactive website www.peugeot-concours-design.com. Participants can submit as many entries as they wish and each entry can be accompanied by one or several drawings or 3D model designs but must be supplemented by an explanatory text. Entries should be submitted between 16 October and 4 December 2006.

The judging panel will be chaired by Frederic Saint-Geours, CEO of Automobiles Peugeot, and will feature judges from the Peugeot Design Centre as well as representatives from Xbox. The panel will assess each entry based on creativity and originality of the entry, its coherence and relevance to the theme, the explanations provided and the overall quality of the entry.

The panel will make an initial shortlist of around 30 entries which will be uploaded onto www.peugeot-concours-design.com; the public can then vote for their favourites. From this public voting, 10 finalists will be selected and showcased on the site before the eventual winner, selected by the judging panel, is announced in late February 2007.

Over the previous three competitions Peugeot has received almost 9,000 projects from 6,300 different competitors. Previous winners are Marko Lukovic from Serbia with his 'Moonster' concept (2000-2001), Stefan Schulze from Germany with the 'Peugeot 4002' (2002-2003) and Andre Costa from Portugal with his 'Moovie' concept (2004-2005).
New 207 proves a big hit at the London Motor Show
The British International Motor Show at ExCeL proved a huge hit with visitors keen to know more about Peugeot's latest models - especially the new 207 which naturally dominated interest. Thousands of genuine customer enquiries were received covering the extensive range of new cars available and these are now being processed through the Peugeot dealer network.

Sales of the latest range of new Peugeot cars continue to grow. In a new car market that in July declined by 4.0%, Peugeot recorded a jump in sales of 3.0% over the same month in 2005, and year to date the marque has increased market share.

The new 207 has got off to a great start with sales in July overtaking the 206 - previously the Company's best-selling model. The re-styled 307 is also proving to be a popular choice with customers with sales comfortably exceeding those in

July 2005. Coupe Cabriolet sales are a Peugeot forte and the marque continues to be the best-selling brand of Cabriolet models in the UK year to date.

This strong sales performance is in part due to Peugeot's established credentials that provide customers with quality-built cars that are stylish, well specified and fundamentally good value. With an attractive range of new products on offer, the latest '56' plate cars look even more inviting for a drive away from Peugeot showrooms, from Friday, 1 September.

New 207 proves a big hit at the London Motor Show...2

Consumer offers available on Peugeot cars, registered before the end of September, include the 107 - available from £7,345 with Free Insurance for over 19 year-olds.

Free Insurance is also available for 206 CC buyers over 25 years of age.

Potential customers interested in the new 207 can now benefit from a 24-hour test drive programme being promoted throughout August. Also available is a new service for customers who text '24' to 60222 to receive information on the 207, see a video on their phone and request a brochure or test drive. This media approach is new and strongly customer interactive.

Peugeot 307 buyers can benefit from 4 years 0% finance (with a 20% minimum deposit) on Hatchbacks, SWs and Estate models, while the CC model is available with 3 years 0% finance (with a 35% minimum deposit).

Peugeot now has the biggest range of cars in its history. With all the new products and consumer offers there has never been a stronger reason for customers to visit a Peugeot dealer this summer.
Peugeot's biofuel HDi diesels
All Peugeot HDi diesel engines can be run on a maximum 30% blend of Biofuel - vegetable oil methylester/diesel.

Peugeot sold the highest number of low CO2 vehicles in 2005*

Since 1998 Peugeot has engineered all its HDi diesel engines to run on biofuels and showcased this in 2004 with the launch of the one make Peugeot RC Cup Motorsport championship.

The RC Cup championship uses racing cars based on the Peugeot RC diamond concept car presented at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show. The cars are all powered by a HDi diesel engine running on biofuel (Diester) and incorporating a diesel particulate filter system (DPFS). In the RC Cup the Diester fuel has a mixture of 50% Biofuel and 50% diesel.

This flexibility in the design of the Peugeot HDi diesel engine means that today, all current Peugeot diesel vehicles can be run on a blend of 30% vegetable oil methylester/diesel biofuel, without any modification.

Therefore with the current level of available biofuel at the UK pump being only 5%, Peugeot again demonstrates its forward thinking in respect to environmental issues.

With the highest number of low CO2 emission (less than 113g/km) cars sold in the UK in 2005, the fitment of diesel particulate filter systems across the range of Peugeot diesel vehicles and now the ability to run on a 30% blend of biofuel, Peugeot can clearly say it is doing its bit to protect the environment.

Peugot 407 wins honours at British insurance car security awards
Peugeot's stylish 407 has secured a double win - awarded the 'Best Family Car' (for the second year running) and 'Best Performance Car' at the British Insurance Car Security Awards (BISCA), hosted at Thatcham - the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre.

Judges carefully considered the latest new cars on a number of stringent vehicle security and protection criteria, in the cause to fight against car crime.

The Peugeot 407 Saloon and Coupe models both won their categories for the high standard of security equipment that includes: plip activated remote automatic door and boot locking, driveaway locking activation, engine immobilisation, laminated front and side windows, deadlocks, ultrasonic alarm, integrated in-car entertainment system, locking wheel nuts for alloy wheels and many other covert security protection devices.

Peugeot's marketing director, Andy Sutton, commented: We are delighted that Peugeot has again been recognised for its high levels of security features in these important awards. It is our main objective to protect customers with the added benefit of having the lowest insurance rates.
More turbo-diesel power for the 807
Peugeot's versatile seven-seater 807, the first MPV to score 5 Stars in Euro NCAP, now benefits from a more powerful 2.0-litre 120 bhp turbo-diesel power unit, that replaces the existing 110 model. With a maximum torque output of 225 lb ft driven through a six-speed manual gearbox, performance is improved with acceleration to 62 mph in 12.9 seconds and onto a potential 111 mph maximum speed.

Euro 4 compliant, the new engine achieves a combined drive cycle economy of 40.9 mpg and 48.7 mpg on the Extra Urban cycle, with 182 g/km recorded for CO2.

The HDi 120 can be specified in all three trim levels - S, SE and Executive. The SE and Executive specification now features as standard a new RD4 CD player with MP3 playback capability and S models are now equipped with 16 Antheor wheels.

107 is a magic number
March signalled the 71st anniversary of the very first driving test - 250,000 people went on to take the test that year. Last year approximately 1.3 million people took their test in the UK - and 560,000 more new drivers took to our roads. But according to research, numbers of people learning to drive are in decline - both because they feel they can't afford the lessons and tests, and also because they may not be able to afford a car even if they pass.

Well, now anyone, from new drivers to old, can buy a brand new Peugeot 107 for just £107 a month*. With a deposit of only £999 the funky 107 Urban, which has a 1.0-litre petrol engine, is available at this special offer price from all Peugeot dealerships until 31 March. Voted Best Budget Car by Auto Express in June 2005, not only does the car come at a great price, but it doesn't cost the earth to run, with a combined fuel consumption of 61.4mpg.

Key product features of the 107 include:

  • 50/50 split folding rear seat to allow room for extra storage
  • ABS (anti-lock brakes)
  • Four standard airbags (driver, passenger and front side airbags) with two 'curtain' airbags available as an option
  • Isofix child safety seat fittings
  • Electric front windows
  • Central locking
  • Electric power steering
  • MP3 compatible radio/CD player
  • Engine immobiliser
  • 3 year warranty/1 year RAC cover
  • Available in a full range of colours (Raven Black, Citrus Yellow, Laser Red, Antigua Blue, Carbon Grey and Zircon)
Peugeot strenghtens 407 saloon and SW line-up
Peugeot has revised its 407 Saloon and SW range with a four-model line-up, available for May delivery. A new 'Sport' model introduces a compelling specification, while the impressive 2.7-litre twin-turbo HDi Diesel, first seen in the 407 Coupe, is available in the distinctive range-topping 'Executive' model.

The four optimised trim levels now combine a progressively increasing level of desirable features, and are identified by their comprehensive model specification designations; S, SE, Sport and Executive. The S model introduces all the range-wide benefits of standard equipment features on 407, while the popular SE model adds items like automatic activated windscreen wipers and headlamps, tyre pressure sensors and electrically folding door mirrors.

The new Sport model is available with either a 2.2-litre petrol or HDi 136 Diesel engine. Standard features, over the SE, include electric adjustment of the half-leather/Zagros trimmed front seats, 6-disc CD autochanger, rear parking aid and a multi-function colour display screen. A Bluetooth® hands free telephone kit is also fitted as standard, as it is on the SE model.

A substantial choice of powertrain is offered to 407 customers and the new and much praised V6 HDi Diesel unit, with a displacement of 2.7-litres is now available in Executive trim. The DPFS (Diesel Particle Filter System) equipped twin-turbo engine, with 205bhp is mated to the smooth-changing six-speed automatic gearbox, with 'Porsche System' Tiptronic controls, to harness the awesome 330 lb ft of torque delivered from 1900rpm.

Supplementing the V6 HDi Diesel engine, the top-of-the-range Executive model can also be specified with the 3.0-litre V6 petrol automatic or HDi 136 Diesel engine, in either manual or automatic transmission. All models now feature 18 Soleil alloy wheels and body-coloured rubbing strips for a more distinctive exterior appearance. All Executive models take the fully-integrated Peugeot RT3 system - combining single CD/RDS radio, integrated GSM mobile telephone colour satellite navigation and voice activation. Further enhancements include xenon headlamps, rear seat side airbags, full leather interior, laminated side windows, heated front seats, rear side window sunblinds and a rear screen sunblind on Saloon models.

The 407 redefines the standard for range-wide safety equipment in the medium sector, featuring a comprehensive safety specification with the standard fitment on all models of ESP (an Electronic Stability Programme) and seven airbags, recognised by the awarding of a maximum 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

High standards of equipment include digital air conditioning, panoramic glass roof on SW models, a choice of four petrol and three diesel engines, double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, and remote locking, plus many other desirable features.

The latest 407 Saloon and SW range also sees the introduction of a new HDi 136 six-speed automatic version in SE, Sport and Executive trim levels. Visually the 407 has been enhanced by the fitment of a chrome-plated radiator grille, which creates a more stylish presence, and body coloured side mouldings on the Executive V6 HDi model.

Smartnav remains a very popular standard fit item on all UK registered 407 cars (RT3 satellite navigation equipped models excluded) up to 31 March 2006.
Peugeot's new 207 achieves 5 stars in Euro NCAP result
A Euro NCAP 5 star occupant protection, 3 star pedestrian protection and 4 star child protection rating has not been achieved before by a supermini.

First the Peugeot 1007 rewrote the Euro NCAP rule book by becoming the first car to exceed 36 points, and still is the only car to achieve this milestone. Now Peugeot's new 207 sets another milestone by becoming the Brand's first car to be awarded 3 stars for pedestrian protection by Euro NCAP.

Sharing the same platform as the Peugeot 1007 clearly has given the new Peugeot 207 inner strength, but adding big car protection technology from the Peugeot 407 has made it pedestrian friendly as well.

The 207 borrows from the 407 the use of two impact absorption structures which distribute impact energy more efficiently in the event of a collision and also enhance repairability and pedestrian impact protection. This technology is not normally found on a supermini.

The 207 is one of the first vehicles to be designed to meet the requirements of the new European directive concerning pedestrian impact protection.

A strong structure is not the only safety system in the 207's armoury as it also has up to six airbags, anti-submarining seats, pre-tensioning seatbelts with force limiters and, Isofix mountings for child protection on the two outer rear seats that comply with the new three-point fixing standards.

Active safety is also a strong point with the standard fitment on all models of ABS with EBFD / EBA, and ESP, xenon directional headlamps and tyre pressure sensors fitted as standard on the range topping GT model.

The new Peugeot 207, which is launched on to the UK market this summer, will create a new chapter in the design of small family cars with its high quality, interior space, stylish design and safety, recognised by the award of a top score by Euro NCAP.
Perfect partner for those little escapades
Peugeot has fitted its 90 bhp HDi turbo diesel engine into the Partner Combi Escapade, and deleted the Totem and Quiksilver models.

The Peugeot Partner Escapade offers a different approach to the compact family leisure vehicle. Its rugged styling and comprehensive standard equipment levels create a family oriented leisure vehicle, which offers outstanding value for money.

The Partner Combi Escapade is designed to transport people, luggage and equipment and has a very accessible boot (capacity 624 litres) which can be increased to 2800 litres with the rear seats folded. Combined with very practical sliding rear side doors, it comfortably seats five and with Isofix child seat mountings fitted on the outer rear seats, is the perfect vehicle for the active family.

It is powered by a 1.6 litre HDI turbo diesel engine producing 90 bhp, which produces a higher maximum torque figure than the 2.0 litre HDi diesel engine previously fitted, at 161 lb ft. It ensures both dynamic performance and a potential range between fill ups of over 600 miles.

ET gets you home quicker
Nipping through the Christmas traffic will be much easier in the new Peugeot 1007 Sport 1.4 litre 16V.

From December, the Peugeot 1007 range sees the introduction of the ET3 1.4 litre 16V Euro IV petrol engine, previously fitted to the 206 Sport. Producing 90 bhp at 5250 rpm and a maximum torque of 100 lb ft at 3250 rpm, the new engine will only be available with a manual 5-speed gearbox.

This new engine provides a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 13.6 seconds and the increase in available engine torque to 100 lb ft, provides the 1007 with a more dynamic performance than the current 1.4 litre 8V engine.

The new engine option is available in the 1007 Sport version only at £11,850 on the road.

  • New 1.4 litre ET3 16V petrol engine introduced into the Peugeot 1007 range
  • EURO IV compliant
  • Class leading safety equipment fitted as standard on all 1007 models, seven airbags, ESP, ASR, ABS, EBA and EBFD
  • Electric front sliding doors for class leading versatility
  • From only £11,850
Peugeot's responsive 807
Now benefitting from the introduction of a new CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol, replacing the VAN (Vehicle Area Network) electronic system to improve responsiveness and provide greater functionality. This new technology was first introduced on the 407 and now features on the 307 and 607.

New customer features introduce:
  • A new Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) for improved vehicle dynamics
  • Orange instrumentation lighting for clearer information display
  • New RD4 bi-tuner radio CD with 4x15 watt output and dual-antenna
  • Cruise Control with speed limiter
  • Easier rear seat removal with a revised latching mechanism

In addition to the technical changes, the 807 range benefits from specific trim level enhancements. S models now specify 16 steel wheels (in lieu of 15) and the new Starting Grey cloth trim. SE models now feature cruise control with speed limiter, roof bars and new Fangorn Grey velour trim as standard equipment. Additional specification, over the SE, on Executive models of 807 include Alcantara® and cloth interior trim, and dark tinted rear windows.

A new Euro IV compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 143 bhp replaces the 138 bhp 2.0-litre powerunit. This smaller-capacity engine is more powerful, 5% more economical, acoustically quieter and has cleaner emissions. This performance is made possible by the fitment of a precatalyser to control and improve pollutant emissions, and a continuous phase adjustor on the inlet camshaft to improve operational performance, combine with other improvements to enhance the engine's package.

Peugeot welcomes Government biofuel initiative
Peugeot is keen to make customers aware that their HDi diesel cars are already capable of operating on this environmentally friendly fuel. The proposal, announced at the Environmentally Friendly Vehicles Conference in Birmingham by the secretary of state for transport, confirmed that under a new Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation, fuel companies will have to ensure that at least five per cent of fuels sold in the UK are from renewable sources by 2010. This fuel is already in widespread use in Europe and regular diesel is supplemented with 5% Biodiesel fuel. In France there are controlled conditions, like captive fleets that operate with PSA Peugeot Citroen Group approved fuel with a 30% Biodiesel content - though this fuel is not currently available to the general public.
Peugeot adds verve to the 206 SW
Practicality and increased luggage space are not the only strengths of the Peugeot 206 SW.

The 206 SW has always been a popular choice for customers looking for the appeal of a super mini, but with greater luggage carrying capacity.

Launched in 2002, the Peugeot 206 SW became the fifth body style within the popular 206 range. Now in November, Peugeot has revised the range with the introduction of the 206 SW Verve and the introduction of Peugeot's class leading 1.6 litre HDi diesel engine.

The new 206 Verve SW range is available with four engine options and includes an automatic gearbox option on the 1.6 litre petrol engine.

The entry model is the Verve 1.4, powered by a 75 bhp 1.4 litre petrol engine and a five speed manual gearbox. A comprehensive standard specification includes:

  • SMART driver and front passenger airbags
  • ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) and emergency braking assistance (EBA)
  • Automatic drive away door locking
  • Power assisted steering
  • Remote control central door locking
  • Electric front windows
  • Air-conditioning
  • Body coloured exterior
  • Alloy wheels
  • Sports front seats

With just one trim level, customers only have to choose which power train option suits them best. After the 1.4 litre, the next choice is a 1.6 litre 16v 110 bhp petrol engine with a 4-speed auto-adapting Tiptronic automatic gearbox.

For diesel fans the choice is a 70 bhp 1.4 litre or 110 bhp 1.6 litre HDi turbo diesel engine. Both are fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox and have combined drive cycle fuel consumptions of 62.7 and 58.8 mpg respectively.

All engines meet the latest Euro IV emission standards.

The range starts from only £10,395.00 on the road for the 1.4 litre model.
